For just a minute, think about this concept of being an in-law of God. Remember how I asked you to imagine how God feels in your marriage? Now I want you to imagine how God feels toward you as an in-law.

Does God feel proud of you? Is He encouraged—even thankful—that He gave your spouse to you to love? Alternatively, does God feel regret, sadness, or even dislike over how you have treated the person you call your spouse?

I realize many of you have never ever thought about God—the all-knowing, ever-present, all-powerful God—as your actual Father-in-law. He sees all the thoughts and behaviors you have toward your spouse, whether you are with them or absent from them.
