The Brain Series: Part Five - Hating Well

So many times when we read the Bible, we have our own preconceived notions of principles that we think Jesus operated on. I want to share one with you that I have never heard preached. I will later add this to the next tool I will share with you.

Often when we think of Jesus, we think of how He loved, He taught, He healed or did various miracles. Have you ever heard of Jesus hating? If you go to Hebrews, 1:8-9, the writer is quoting Psalm 45; 6-7 about Jesus stating:

But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”

Jesus not only loved righteousness, He hated wickedness. I believe there is a place in our heart in which we need not to coddle our lust and sexual sin, but we must hate it. We must hate it like the enemy it is.

You will never destroy an enemy you embrace. As you clean your brain I think it is very helpful for you to hate lust in all its forms. Lust destroys all around you. It can take your family and leave you appearing quite foolish. Hating this enemy can be a part of the process for you to have a really clean brain and a really clean life.

Stay tuned for the final part of The Brain Series!
