Forgiveness Exercise


Many of us have had things done to us by others. Often, we have done things or allowed things to happen to ourselves or even simply abandoned or neglected ourselves.

In this exercise, you will need two chairs facing each other, “Chair A” and “Chair B.” Here you will do a role play exercise. In “Chair A” you will play yourself, In “Chair B” you imagine yourself. So, it is you in “Chair A” talking to you in “Chair B.”

In “Chair A” I want you to own, apologize, and ask forgiveness, for what you have may have done to you, regarding the choices you have made in the past. When you are finished, sit in “Chair B.” In “Chair B” you are responding to that request to be forgiven. If you have forgiven yourself, go back to “Chair A” and respond to that forgiveness. If you are unable to forgive yourself at this time, try this monthly until you are able to forgive.
