Saying Goodbye to Your Anorexia


The alcoholic has to one day say goodbye to the long term friendship of alcohol, if he or she intends to have a happier life in sobriety. He or she will have to make a permanent decision, to end forever, their relationship with their survival entity, the bottle.

The intimacy anorexic also faces a day of reckoning, if you will, with this protective entity called intimacy anorexia. Like a shell, it has kept you safe and protected. Your DNA, to really live life, is pushing you willfully, to break that shell, and wobble and walk your way into the brave new world of risk, pain and being really loved.

It’s time to say goodbye to your anorexia. On a separate sheet of paper, write a goodbye letter to your anorexia.
