The author of Hebrews continues to give principles to win in the holiest of competitions. He states, Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith.
When running a race we know it is a process of enduring. I know that when I run; I need to keep my mind focused on something to keep me from stopping, especially when it gets tough. The same is true in the intimacy race with your spouse. When you’re running the marathon of intimacy we call marriage, you need to stay focused. I am glad that the writers of Hebrews tell us what to focus on during the race.
Focus on Jesus during the race. Don’t focus on your husband or wife; don’t focus on how fair things are for you or how bad you have it, focus on Jesus. I think this is great wisdom and has solid application to running the race of the holiest of competitions.
