Lust is not optional for us—it’s prohibited. Plain and simple. By decree of the King—Jesus Christ—you and I are not permitted to entertain it. This isn’t a gray area. Both the letter of the Law and the Spirit behind it make this clear. Jesus didn’t lower the bar; He raised it. In Matthew 5:28, He tells us that even looking at someone with lustful intent is committing adultery in the heart. That’s not just a guideline—it’s a royal command.
And let’s be honest: you don’t get to vote on this. When you surrendered your life to Christ, you gave up your right to rule yourself. You handed over your authority and said, “Jesus is Lord.” That means you don’t get to negotiate the terms of holiness. You’re a citizen of His Kingdom now, and the King has spoken.
So the next time lust comes knocking, don’t debate it. Don’t entertain it. Just tell it: “If you want access to me, you’ll have to go through Jesus first.” Lust won’t make that trip—it already knows what Christ’s answer will be. He said no to lust, every time, and He empowers you to do the same.
You are not a slave to desire—you are a servant of the King. And your King has not called you to indulgence; He has called you to purity, honor, and love. Walk like a subject of the Kingdom. Follow your King’s example. You’re not fighting lust alone—you’re standing in the authority and victory of Christ Himself.
